R18LabQMS application updates
Since AASHTO came out with the changes to the R18 standard, there have been questions on updates to the R18LabQMS application. Following up on our May 2016 blog entry, we are in the planning stages that will reflect changes to section numbers, new areas to be addressed, and frequency of activities within the quality manual.
2016 updates planned
• General updates that will be reflected with version number changes, Q4 2016
• AASHTO R18-16 section number updates Q3, 2016
• Phase one updates related to AASHTO R18-16 changes, Q4, 2016
All version changes will be documented and outlined on our blog. Laboratories are expected to comply with AASHTO R18-16 changes by April 2017.
Recent questions by user
Q: Do we receive email notifications or alerts for technician certifications?
A: Currently no, however we are in the process of implementing this no later than the end of Q3, 2016. Email notifications are currently sent for equipment procedures, technician training records and internal audit reports.
Q: If I have satellites labs that use R18LabQMS, can I easily move equipment, users and procedures within the QMS from one lab (account) to the next?
A: Currently no, however with number of request for this capability we are moving forward with this upgrade with implementation expected in Q4, 2016.

AMRL has announced their name change to AASHTO re:source, they have refocused and are rebranding. Their new website AASHTOresource.org will launch on August 22, 2016.
Things to note about AMRL’s name change:
- The AASHTO Accreditation Program (AAP) name will stay the same.
- Committed to the same level of customer service from their staff and programs.
