As we continue our quest into version 2.0, let’s take a look at the “Manage Lab” tab. With the navigation bar across the top, the manage lab tab is meant to be used as an administration section for your account in the process of managing your Quality Management System.
Just to hit the highlights, users will frequently ask about providing access to assessors prior to onsite assessments, this is found on the left-hand column where you can view assessors that have been given access, edit or disable. This same function can be performed from the dashboard widget.
The organizational chart is another feature that has been brought to the forefront of the manage lab tab. This is one area that was completely reworked and simplified for the user. After clicking “view” click “modify” and you are now able to move users around by simply drag and drop positions by clicking the mouse, hide or edit user information, or print a pdf or the org chart.
There is a much cleaner and easier navigation experience with a widget format to view and edit various areas, i.e. equipment procedures. You can also see the number of current users, satellite labs and much more.
Recent user questions and comments
Q: We received a non-conformity during our last on-site assessment for not having a training record for the technician that presented a test, how do we create a PDF for our response to the accreditation body?
A: First, I’ll refer to a recent blog where we outlined “technician training and evaluations” dated June 1, 2017. Since that blog, we have launched v2.0, but the process of creating and viewing technician records are basically the same with a few minor changes. View or create by clicking “evaluations” on the top, select the technician’s name, there you will see the date training records were created, and you will find “download PDF.”
