Equipment category fix
We have found that users have been able to create duplicate equipment categories with the same category name. When this happens, all of the equipment records that have, for example, “Category 1” will be duplicated, causing confusion.
The fix going forward
Within the Manage Lab Tab/equipment categories, there are default system categories. If a duplicate ‘system category’ is created it would be named (category name (your lab name)). If attempting to create duplicate category names, there should be a message saying ‘Unable to Create Duplicate Category Names’ and you should not be able to save.
We’ve condensed the duplicate categories by name, down into one category, and assigned all equipment records that had that category name to that one category.
